We have already talked to you in a previous article about this wonderful lake (read the article here), which is located not too far from Rieti and is surrounded by some truly characteristic villages.
Here you can decide to immerse yourself in nature, taking a walk along the lake, or enjoy the sun and relax.
Along the lake you can find several bars and kiosks that allow you to enjoy the wonderful view.
Vallocchie waterfall
If you have decided to visit Lake Turano, or one of the surrounding villages, we recommend that you take one of the paths that lead from Castel di Tora to the Vallocchie waterfall.
Fortunately, there are two types of routes (easy and difficult) that allow you to reach this wonder of Sabina nature.
Salto Lake
The Salto Lake is another of the wonders of Sabine nature that we recommend you to visit. For a walk immersed in nature or for a simple day of relaxation, it is definitely a destination to discover.
The good fortune of us Sabines is to be able to enjoy these landscapes even on hot winter days.
Terminillo
Mount Terminillo, easily reachable from Rieti, can be a destination to discover in all seasons of the year.
In winter, if you love snow and want to go for a nice snowshoe hike or sledging with your children; in summer, if you prefer to cool off in the mountains and reach the summit.
The Farfa gorges
The Farfa gorges are a marvel of Sabine nature that you absolutely cannot miss.
You can reach the gorges both from Mompeo and from Castelnuovo di Farfa. We advise you to go in summer equipped with sneakers. Walking inside the Farfa river and enjoying the surrounding landscape is something to do at least once if you are in Sabina.
The natural reserve of the Tiber river
If you want to take a nice walk immersed in Sabina nature, the natural reserve of the Tiber river is for you.
Easily reachable from Poggio Mirteto, it is a destination that will give you the opportunity to enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon, away from the noise of the city.
Mount Tancia
Are you a trekking lover and do you want to take a nice walk surrounded by Sabina nature? Mount Tancia is definitely a destination that you might like.
Not too far from Rieti and Poggio Mirteto, it will give you the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful Sabine landscape that surrounds our villages.
Path of the Hermitages of San Leonardo and San Michele
If you are near Roccantica, or you simply want to immerse yourself in the Sabine nature, this path is the right choice.
Easily accessible from the village of Roccantica (we talked about it in an article), this path will allow you to enjoy the Sabine landscape.
The route allows you to visit the Hermitages of San Leonardo and San Michele, and is 6 km long.
